Frodo is a remarkable six year old gray, Lipizzan Stallion, Currently training first level dressage, Frodo stands 15.3 hands high with a beautiful face, expressive eyes and nice conformation. Frodo has a great work ethic and is a gentleman in the arena, as well as in the breeding shed.  Frodo has very classic Lipizzan  presence with big comfortable movement He posses a very nice neck and shoulder slope Frodo received 8 and 9’s for his evaluation  in Kernersville WVA with Dr. Oulehla. Frodo’s first foal was a filly born in June of 2007, Devona  is very graceful and elegant in 2008 Devona received a 72% from Hilda Gurney in her Lipizzan breed Class at Dressage at Devon. Devona was also evaluated by Dr. Oulehla when she was  two and received all 8’s and 9’s!

 

Pluto Matina’s  bloodlines go back to the legendary and valuable bloodlines of  Pluto Calcedona  he was the FIRST Austrian-bred Lipizzan to be born in North America, and out of the mare Bona,  who was imported from Piber.  In 1976,  at the age of 15, Pluto Calcedona, made his film debut as  Buffalo Bill's horse in a Paul Newman movie.     The owners the  Dreitzler family imported and bred many Lipizzans, and promoted the breed  through exhibitions,  but , tragedy struck  one evening.  A dam broke at the head of their beautiful, valley, which sent a wall of water 10’ deep, through the valley, killing almost all of the Raflyn Farm Lipizzans.  Pluto Bona II survived only because he had been sold and transported to Yvonne Fabian in Michigan prior to the flood.  Because of this, Pluto Bona’s bloodline would be rare in the United States and would cross well with the Lipizzan mares that had been imported and raised at Temple Farm in Wadsworth, Illinois.  Many of the foals from this line have gone on to work & compete up to Grand Prix, and do exhibitions with including the Airs above the Ground.

Ø  2009 Performed Equine affair 6 horse quadrille with 5 Lipizzan mares!

Ø  2009 Received my USDF, Riders Award, Training Level

Ø  2009 Received GMO (Maryland Dressage Association) Training Level Silver

Ø  2010 MD Horse Expo performed a 4 horse quadrille with 3 mares!

Ø  2010  Qualified for  CBLMS  66.4%  Placing 2^nd in his class out of 14

Ø  2010 Qualified for his USDF  horse performance award

Ø  2010 Qualified for his USDF All Breeds Award.
