Bred for Dressage we are pleased to offer our gorgeous 15 H 3 year old Lipizzan filly, born June 28^th 2007. Devona is a gorgeous full bred Reg. Lipizzan Mare. She is curious and not spooky comes right up to you in the field she loves attention! Devona is out of Casurina, Casurina has competed to 1^st level before bred. Devonas sire is Pluto Matina. From Devona’s sire side her bloodlines also go back to the legendary and valuable bloodlines of Pluto Calcedona he was the FIRST Austrian-bred Lipizzan to be born in North America, and out of the mare Bona, who was imported from Piber. In 1976, at the age of 15, Pluto Calcedona, made his film debut as Buffalo Bill's horse in the Paul Newman movie.

The owners the Dreitzler family imported and bred many Lipizzans, and promoted the breed through exhibitions, but , tragedy struck one evening. A dam broke at the head of their beautiful, valley, which sent a wall of water 10’ deep, through the valley, killing almost all of the Raflyn Farm Lipizzans. Pluto Bona II survived only because he had been sold and transported to Yvonne Fabian in Michigan prior to the flood. Because of this, Pluto Bona’s bloodline would be rare in the

United States

and would cross well with the Lipizzan mares that had been imported and raised at Temple Farm in Wadsworth, Illinois. Many of the foals from this line have gone on to work & compete up to Grand Prix, and do exhibitions with including the Airs above the Ground

Devona, has three very correct gaits, beautiful confirmation and movement, Devona has already proven she is very trainable and willing. She is 100% sound and she leads, loads ties baths, blankets, stands quietly for the farrier and vet, she lunges, trailers well with or with out others and loves to be brushed, bathed and worked with. Nov. 20, 2010 Devona is now under saddle and is loving every min. of it!!!

2008 Scored 82.7% at her Lipizzan evaluation with Dr. Oulehla-She received all 8’s and 9’s

2008 first show Dressage at Devon as a yearling she received a score of 72% from Hilda Gurney

2009/2010 Devona – was able to take time to be young grow and play and frolic and enjoy life.

November of 2010 Devona was started under saddle and is a perfect angel She is currently going very well under saddle!!
